Prachuap Khiri Khan

Sometimes I forget how special it is that I am living in Thailand; that I have the opportunity to live in another country and teach. I find it funny how normal an experience can become and I forget that what Kaily and I are doing is indeed special. Yet when I sink into the busy, repetitive life of teaching, it's hard to tell myself to stop, look around and remind myself "this is flippin awesome!".

We have passed our three month mark here in Bangkok, and it does feel normal, and I can say that I am starting to feel settled here in this new home. Our first three months were so busy with getting settled into teaching, trips, family visits, and a wedding that those three months have felt like nothing. Now things have slowed down and Kaily and I have been able to focus on our work, and Kaily's schooling.

With that to focus on, we look forward to our weekends and holidays where we can spend with each other or with our friends. Bangkok is an amazing city that has so many cool spots to discover. There are coffee shops, malls and markets that make the weekends fun to explore, tiring, but fun : ) The weekends have also been great opportunities to get out of the city and experience some cool getaway spots. This past weekend we travelled with some friends to the Prachuap Khiri Khan province to the Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park. While there we just relaxed but also did some hiking, kayaking and site seeing.

The moments when we are able to get away and see things that are quite out of the ordinary are the moments that help me realize that everything that we are experiencing is not normal, but in fact special. I'll take it as a good reminder.
Enjoy the photos my friends, we miss you.
